About Me
What's Up!
My real name is Michael "Mike" Feild (Yes it is spelled "E" before "I")
I have been going by The MF Trainer because of this common misspell.
For the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people both online and in person to help them build muscle, shed body fat, and, most importantly, feel more confident in their bodies. I’ve also guided many through injury recovery (all cleared by physical therapy, of course)—but we’ll dive deeper into that later.
A little about me: I’m a fitness coach based in Richmond, VA. Funny enough, I didn’t start out in the fitness world. Like many, I worked a regular 9-5 desk job for a while. In my early 20s, I had back surgery and was told I should avoid lifting heavy. Instead of accepting that limitation, I became obsessed with figuring out how to stay in shape and adapt workouts to suit my needs. Spoiler alert: I can now lift heavy as hell—yes, it’s possible!
This is where fitness becomes personal. It’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. Life throws so many variables at us—injuries, kids, work demands—you name it. Following a cookie-cutter program isn’t going to cut it if you want lasting results.
My mission? To help you feel your best and create a fitness and health routine that fits your life, no matter the circumstances.
If you’re looking for the “secret hacks” to fitness, the best waist trimmer belt, or a 6-pack in five minutes… I’m not the coach for you.
But if you want real, sustainable results backed by science—where fitness becomes a long-term, enjoyable part of your life—I’m here to help you make it happen. My job is to take the stress out of it and find what works for you so that you stick with it, feel great, and enjoy the journey.
Whether you’re starting from scratch, working around old injuries, or trying to push past a plateau, I’ve got your back every step of the way.
Oh, and by the way, I’m and NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach – just in case you were wondering!
